Hershey Park Is Open !!
Hersheypark Amusement Park has officially opened today ! People from all over the world come to Hershey, PA to experience the sights and sounds that that Milton Hershey envisioned when he came up with the idea of the theme park.
Originally built for the workers and residents of Hershey, PA this small town has evolved over the years. Hershey Park’s original appeal was its simplicity. An ideal spot for picnicking, boating, and canoeing, the Park was landscaped with graceful trees and wooded groves that provided a shady retreat for thousands of people without being crowded. The original main buildings, a rustic bandstand and pavilion, served as a stage for vaudeville and theatre productions. With it’s opening day more than 100 years ago a lot has changed in the park ! In 1907 there was the addition of the merry-go-round, on the 20th year anniversary the “Wild Cat” was introduced; by 1945 there were well over two dozen attractions that everyone could enjoy and have fun in.
Nowadays there are over 10 full-sized roller coasters, a waterpark, an Ampitheatre that features performances by lovely seals and much much more ! Plan your trip to this wonderful candy paradise (LIMIT THE AMOUNT THE CHILDREN GET TO !! ), and get ready for a fun-filled day, 2 days or whole week in this chocolatey town.
