Irish Step Dancing
Irish Step Dancing is a distinctive form of dance that includes awesome footwork and Irish music. The tradition of Irish dancing has many origins and many stories. Though many have different opinions about where it started, it is largely accepted that it has been around for centuries and has evolved, deriving influences from cultures all over the world.
The Gaelic League that was established in 1893 to preserve Irish traditions such as their dance, language and music. Small things yes but that is was makes them Irish. With the help of the league Irish traditions have not only survived but have flourished everywhere that the Irish have migrated to, even as far as Singapore. In recent years Riverdance and Lord of the Dance have made Irish Step dancing a prominent symbol of the Irish folk. It is a beautiful dance step that has to be well choreographed and planned out to get its complete beauty.
