Out with the animals, in with the cars.
In less than two weeks the Farm Show Complex and Exposition Center in Harrisburg is undergoing a radical transformation: From a celebration of the state’s agricultural roots and heritage to the latest whizzbang cars headed to area showrooms.
Today marks the start of the annual Pennsylvania Auto Show, which, like years past, promises to have something for everyone, from the latest muscle cars from the American manufacturers, to people-movers from Honda and Toyota.
More than 500 new vehicles will be on display, a smorgasbord of vehicles from all corners of the earth. For the kids there is an entertainment area, and new this year is a “Powersports Hall” – opening Friday – with a collection of ATVs, boats, motorcycles and more.
Ford is back with its Ride and Drive event on Saturday and Sunday, allowing show-goers to take a spin behind the wheel of the blue oval’s latest vehicles. Show-goers will also have the chance to win one of several new or certified pre-owned vehicles worth at least $25,000 from various local dealerships.
The Elegance At Hershey will also be back again this year, with a display of luxury and antique cars, a nice counterpoint to the Tjin Edition RoadShow, which features heavily modified cars like the Ford Mustang GT and Ford Focus ST. The Pennsylvania Auto Show runs through Sunday. Tickets are $9 for adults, $5 for seniors and children over 12, $3 for children ages 7 to 12 and free to children 6 and younger.
